Tandem Charting: Jenn & NIL

It has been a while since we had a tandem-charting, but Marigold and NIL obliged this snowy Monday:

"And I love the nudge, nudge, wink, wink thing Tolkien has going on with the reader. Much like CS Lewis in the _Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe_. For example in the riddle game, he says stuff to the reader like "The answer of course was very simple, and I'm sure you knew it long ago, and have been laughing at Bilbo for his foolishness." I like that. Very Kipling in the _Just So Stories_, "Listen and attend oh best beloved," and all. We made it all the way through the Hobbit, both working on our little computer projects. Me, figuring out the chart and making a wedding web page for Jean (both fun projects) and Nathan alternately working and trying to improve the compression of the program that zips files (his idea of a fun project. No. Really.)"

Wow, let's see: we have some of the best British authors of the last 150, we have a Monty Python reference (Eric Idle's "Nudge Nudge"), books on tape as background for computer projects, AND "fun" things like compression programs. Nice work my friends! Oh, and Jenn, a few days ago, that simile about Fenrir and the Moon, that should have been Hati--wow, I must be slipping!
